Edition of the book by O. Veltman was destroyed as soon as she was born in 1858. The Russian autocratic government could not like what the author saw in Attila, Prince of Kyiv. After all, according to the official version of the chauvinist "Great Russian" history, the great ruler of Europe was supposed to be, if not a Turk, then a representative of some unknown tribe. They say that only one copy has survived, which somehow ended up in Serbia. The book should finally be seen by the widest possible number of readers, especially Ukrainian ones, because its author, the Russian historian, Swede by origin Oleksandr Veltman (1800-1870), paid a lot of attention to Ukraine.
The original work, unfortunately, is of very poor quality and it was not possible to disassemble everything. And the author, who worked with sources that have not reached us, apparently also had the same problem, because he put a question mark in many places. However, we tried to do everything so that this book came out in the best form.
