[About Chiran Tea]
The distinctive feature of Chiran City's green tea is the way the harvested tea leaves are steamed. Tea leaves
begin to ferment as soon as they are harvested, but they are "steamed" to stop the fermentation. Regular
sencha is steamed for about 30 seconds, but deep steamed tea is steamed for 60 to 180 seconds. By extending
the steaming time, you can create a beautiful deep green tea.
