Vintage framed Java shadow puppet "Wayang Kulit".   Mid 20th century.
The figure is painted on water buffalo skin.  She has black hair and golden skin.  The articulated sticks are made of water buffalo horn and have decorative carvings on them.   The stick attached to her left hand (right side of frame) was broken off before framing.  This does not distract from the beautiful display.   This piece is in excellent condition.
Framed in a gold colored wood frame with glass.  The background is tan.   The frame is 15" wide, 23.5" tall and 1.5" deep.  Weighs about 5 lbs.
This puppet was purchased by my Great Aunt while on a southeast Asia cruise in the late 1950's.  She had it framed when she got home.  It was the focal point of her family room decor for many many years.
