WW1 Memorial Plaque to 29th Battalion
Hugh Cameron Kennedy (a unique name). Hugh was born on 11th September 1878 and was a Clerk by occupation as well as a 12 year veteran of the 37th Haldimand Regiment of Canadian Militia. He originally attested on 3rd August 1915 in the 76th Battalion but was discharged on 30th November 1915 "as not likely to become an efficient soldier", not to be thwarted he re-enlisted on the 6th December in the 36th Battalion at Cayuga and was later transferred to the 29th Battalion in the field where he served in 'B' Company. He was reported missing on 21st August 1917 and later deemed to of died on or since that date. He is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.
