Pompano rigs are extremely popular on beaches and piers in the United States due to their high hook-up rates and ability to catch a wide range of species. Curious to see how they performed locally, the Wiggle ya Worm fishos adapted the concept for Australian conditions. After experimenting with dropper lengths, hook sizes and float positioning, the result is a highly effective float-assisted paternoster that consistently produces results.

The heavier 40lb mono leader makes this version particularly strong and versatile, especially when fishing around structure or targeting larger surf species. The design has been field-tested across surf, reef, and estuary conditions, and the high visibility floats combined with luminous beads help attract fish as the bait moves naturally through the water.

Wiggle ya Worm Tip
These rigs work best with small strip baits, squid pieces or other meaty morsels. The floats allow the bait to “dance” naturally in the current, which often triggers bites from fish cruising the gutters.

If conditions get rough or you want to cast further, the supplied sinker can be quickly changed by simply unlooping the hoop and attaching a heavier sinker.
