Between 1959 and 1968, the Leach Corporation commissioned artist Merv Corning to illustrate momentous aviation history scenes from World War 1 in a series known as Heritage of the Air.

This image, Compassionate Hunter was painted in 1963. The lithograph was printed in 1963 from the painting. 

The image portrays an Austrian bomb drop on a French Submarine in 1916  - the Austrian rescued all French crew.

A special set of Leach Corporation lithographs printed from Merv Corning's paintings were presented to the White House and United States Air Force in 1961. Images from Merv Corning's paintings were also printed in Aviation Week and Space Technology magazine.

This image is 8.5" x 9.25" and is printed on high quality paper stock measured at 11" x 14 - this print has been in a flat portfolio since the early 1960s.

When shipped, each print is sleeved in archival poly and protected with 2 rigid corrugated cardboard pads measuring 16" x 13" x 1", then packaged in bubble wrap and shipped via USPS Mail Ground Advantage. Priority Shipping available as needed.
