All 318 pages are well secured with no turned down corners - there is one small tear at the bottom of one page (see phot).

A previous owner has inked in some of the letters and the shield on the frontspiece - see photos.

There are also the initials of the previous owner on a fly-paper, a child had a put a faint pencil drawing on the reverse of the title page and the last 3 lines of the book have been faintly scored through by pencil - they are still legible (see photo)

The red boards are damaged and the spine covering is coming away in places.

All defects are shown in the photos.
