This 1925 The Government of Ceylon 1 Rupee dated October 1^st, 1925.  The banknote is blue on green, lilac and gray Guilloche pattern underprint. THE GOVERNMENT OF CEYLON on top to left above Promises to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of value in outlined font ONE RUPEE in a 3.5-inch bar with a large numeric 1 within an octagon with sides arced out to the left. The serial numbers (E1620050) are shown on the right top and left bottom of the note. The back of the note has a twelve spoke Guilloche pattern with ONE RUPEE in two lines on either side within artistic rectangular frame, all in Blue. The certification of this banknote is uncertified, and it is a great piece of history from Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka). This banknote is a must-have for any collector of world paper money.
