CASE:

This is a STUNNING two piece screw back watch case. The back of the case is correctly numbered W10 6645 99 961 4045 and 2157/69 and it has the British military broad arrow mark. The case itself is in EXCELLENT original condition with JUST THE LIGHTEST OF WEAR AND UNUSUALLY NO case opener scratches that are normally found on the case backs. I see just one nick on the front of one lug but apart from this the case is exceptional.  The watch measures 3.5cms (35mm) In diameter, excluding the crown. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY original MILITARY watch case.

 

DIAL:

This is an absolutely lovely, minty and most importantly totally original fully signed black military dial. The dial is signed "SMITHS" in white painted lettering with the wording underneath 'Made In England' on the bottom of the dial. It has painted Arabic and numerals bordered by a white minute track which is in excellent original condition. The hour markers are lumed dots. They are totally original and have the ORIGINAL lume still on which has browned very slightly. The beautiful steel hour and minute hands are in excellent condition retaining the original lume too with NO breaks and NO cracks in the lume that I can see. The centre second hand is white and is in excellent original condition. This is a really lovely ORIGINAL dial in beautiful minty original condition. The crystal shows a few light marks to its surface (see photos)

THERE ARE SHADOWS ON THE DIAL FROM THE REFLECTION OF THE CAMERA. THEY ARE NOT FLAWS IN ANY WAY.

  

MOVEMENT:

This is a super clean and absolutely genuine unsigned SMITHS CAL 27.CS 17 jewel manual wind movement. It is complete with its original metal dust cover. It has a beautiful finish. It is numbered as it should be. This beautiful movement has just been FULLY SERVICED by my watch maker. The watch winds smoothly, sets with ease and has good friction. It is in full working condition. The watch is keeping very good time to within approx. -15 secs per day as tested over a 24 hour period. The stainless original crown looks absolutely genuine to the watch, and is in excellent condition with no wear.

 

BAND: 

This fabulous SMITHS W10 BRITISH MILITARY wrist watch has been fitted with a brand new quality black leather 16mm open ended band which is 1mm smaller than the lug size. The band has a chromed metal buckle. If you are a serious collector, the watch would probably benefit if you fitted a new NATO style canvas band.
