Words cannot do justice for this beautiful planter. This is a piece by Kay of Hollywood from the early 1940's. It is unbelievable that a piece of pottery that is 80 years old, has been so well kept. She is clean, has no stains, chips, cracks. She has been tested and does hold water. With a planting well on each hip (which join to make one large planting pot) they are sized for a smaller plant, but yet deep enough to allow space for roots.
The lace scarf is almost perfect. It is possible that a small piece is missing, as one hole in the delicate piece appears a bit larger than the others. Do notice that the holes in her lace scarf mimic the floral dots on her dress. Again, she is simply a beautiful piece.
I'm unsure who cared for her for all these years, as I rescued her from a small Central Texas resale shop. Unfortunately, the shop owner didn't have a history to share with me. Whatever her history - she is accustomed to being taken care of. My hope is to find her a new owner to love and care for her.
