Design: The obverse features the coat of arms of the Dominican Republic along with the issue year 1990. The reverse design depicts a symbolic scene of Catholic missionaries evangelizing to the indigenous people in the New World shortly after the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1492. The reverse also has inscriptions "V CENTENARIO DE LA EVANGELIZACION 1492-1992" and the denomination.

Condition: This coin is a proof strike in virtually flawless gem mint condition, with frosted raised elements and mirrored fields. It comes encapsulated in the original mint plastic capsule as issued and it housed in the original green leatherette presentation box.
