We offer a seal kit / repair kit for VANOS adjuster units in S50B30 engines installed in BMW 3 series models. 


If your engine is equipped with a VANOS adjuster unit (variable valve timing system), you might experience the following symptoms:

- loss of torque and power especially in the lower and middle RPM range
- uneven power and rpm distribution
- louder and uneven idle
- difficult takeoffs
- increased fuel consumption


This is most likely caused by faulty seals inside the VANOS adjuster unit, which are not able to withstand the high oil pressure anymore that is used to control the variable valve timing system.

Here you have option to purchase high-quality replacement seals and to save a lot of money compared to the purchase of a new VANOS adjuster unit. All o-rings are made out of heat and wear resistant FPM/FKM (Fluoroelastomer, comparable to Viton®) and the PTFE seals contain special additives to increase their compressive strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. FPM has better mechanical properties than standard o-ring materials such as NBR and a far greater temperature resistance (from -20°C/-4°F to +204°C/+400°F). The PTFE seals are CNC-milled to our specifications within tolerance class DIN ISO 2768-1-f (fine) in Germany to ensure a high level of accuracy.


Attention: The solenoid valve grooves in S50B30 engines are not properly designed for the use of o-rings. CNC machined seals with a unique u-profile that are specifically made for these grooves need to be installed instead. These seals for the solenoid valves are not included in this seal kit and need to be purchased separately (product number MJ10019 in our online shop).

Attention: After the installation of our seals, in some models the engine control unit might take some time until it realises that the responsiveness of the VANOS adjuster unit has changed and adjusts itself.
