Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (bti) larvacide produces an insecticidal protein called the insecticidal crystal protein (ICP). When ingested by pest larvae, the ICP can paralyze their intestinal tract within minutes and cause the destruction of the intestinal lining, allowing the vegetative cells of the BTI to invade and cause sepsis.
This process leads to the death of the larvae from starvation and sepsis.
The effects of mosquito control are usually rapid, with some larvae dying within hours and complete larval mortality occurring within 24 hours. However, this mosquito larvicide is only effective against pest larvae and will not affect pupae or adult mosquito.
Late larval stages that are no longer actively feeding are also not affected by this bacteria.

Usage:
- For preventive treatments water your plants mixing 1 Gram of BTI in 1 Litre of tap water per square meter (sq meter = 2/4 plants average depending on how much soil each plant has) repeat every 15/20 days. Example: 2sq meter application - Water your plants diluting 2 grams of BTI in 2 litre of water (Keep shaking the container periodically for an even distribution)
- For established insect populations water your plants mixing 2 Gram of BTI in 1 Litre of tap water per square meter (sq meter = 2/4 plants average depending on how much soil each plant has) repeat every 7/10day. Example: 2sq meter application - Water your plants diluting 4 grams of BTI in 2 litre of water (Keep shaking the container periodically for an even distribution)
Shake bottle through application for even distribution.
(For established fungus gnats populations we recommend using in conjunction Beauveria Bassiana an Entomopathogenic fungi as a FOLIAR spray which affects the pulpae and adult stages of fungus gnats).

We always recommend focusing on prevention treatments with regular BTI applications; this will affect the larval stage of fungus gnats, stopping their first cycle of development. Preventive BTI every 14 days applications will make certain pests non existent.
