18-tooth Ford Speedometer Gear

The yellow 18-tooth Ford gear is the speedometer drive gear, which sits in the transmission tailshaft. Its job is to turn the speedometer cable, which makes the speedometer read vehicle speed.

Why do I need a new gear?
