Vintage SEIKO WOOD MANTLE CLOCK

Seiko Model  QXJ1112BLH (RETIRED)

Size: 8.5" Tall  x  9" Width x 4" Deep

Purchased in late 1990s

Has both Westminster and  Whittington Chimes Selections (with Volume control) OR you can turn off the chimes completely. Quarter - hour chimes. There is a little 'speaker' on the underside.

This clock features a very high finish of deep cherry (?) wood - the grain can be seen under the rich luster of the smooth seal. Beautiful, sleek curves and rounded beveled edges throughout.

The creamy ivory-white clock face has black Roman numerals with a glass, convex crystal that reduces glare. The dial is raised from the wood slightly and bordered with a silvery-gold band - the color seems to change, depending on the light.

The clock is raised from the surface it rests on with 4 brass legs that are ~ 1/8" tall. Adds elegance and 'speaker' is lifted from surface.

There is a little nick in the wood at the bottom front. Luckily, it is quite small, and most of it is under the clock. See photos. It is not deep and should be easy to match stain and seal.

This clock is extremely accurate - it works beautifully and keeps  perfect time.  It is also very quiet.

The back has a 'control panel' with easy access to the mechanics and controls. There is a lid that covers this compartment.

Takes a C Battery.  I removed it just before photographing and won't be included, both for it's extra weight to ship... and I don't want it coming loose in the back compartment.

This model is retired and difficult to find. It is a little larger than the QXJ012BLH Model, which is the current Seiko model that comes the closet to this model - as far as I can tell.....

Will be wrapped with lots of bubble wrap and padding and sent in a sturdy box.

Unless stated, spots on photos are glare or reflections of light and/ or color of nearby objects while photographing. I sometimes show photos in different lighting, backgrounds, etc to show a detail or show how the item looks in different lighting, backgrounds, etc.

Photos I have included are part of my description, as a photo can often truly describe better than what is written.

SHIPPING

I offer Combined Shipping. It is based on size (dimensions) of box or pouch etc, its total weight, and, where it's being sent. This seems fairer than 'formulas' I've seen that use total item quantity, using some decreasing %, etc ,and to me, this offers the BUYER the best total price. That said, some items cannot be combined, based on fragility of item(s) and safe arrival to your location, ie - no bowling balls-crystal stemware combinations.

Both Ground Advantage and  Priority (a bit more cost) Shipping are usually offered via USPS - it depends on how quickly you want the item. I also offer Media Mail, if appropriate. And if one of the Flat Rate Boxes/Envelopes work better, that's fine if something is heavy but small and comes in at a lower shipping cost. Because I live on the West Coast, and Shipping Costs vary so much with weight/distance, I offer shipping at Calculated Cost rather than Fixed Price. (unless it's rare exception just mentioned)

I will always try to offer your item(s) at lowest cost to you - as long as the item is safe from damage - unless you specify a more expensive  or different choice.

I will ship same day or next-day from when order/payment is complete - it depends on time I receive Ebay's notice. I have indicated 1-day Service on EBAY's form.  I do allow for 2 day ONLY if weather is a factor (I would write the buyer and explain if possible) -OR-  I've need to leave for day and order came in very late night before.

I will include in my listing, if an item is AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL PICKUP because of size, weight, fragility, value. Or, if it is more convenient for you, and you are nearby, I can meet you in a public place, once paid. Contact me if that works for you. I am in 98092.

I offer returns, IF item is returned in the same condition as it was sent to you.

PRICING

I try to offer the Buyer a good deal, competitively priced (through research and/or checking other similar items listed, and Ebay's Price guide). If you really want item, or think i might take a lower offer (where OR BEST OFFER is available), feel free to offer, there are always counteroffers.

If I have something unique or particularly valuable, I take that into consideration or may have gotten advice from a better authority than myself in pricing.

Most items are comparable to what else is similar online.  However, you will often find some items in my listings that are quite inexpensively priced -Things I know nothing about (and don't want to), things that could be considered nice for a garage sale  or estate sale but would rather do on eBAY.... or because I would love to sell to someone who wants/ can use - and then I no longer have in storage or taking room in my house. WIN/WIN FOR EVERYONE!!!!
