Lens configuration and mechanism design cut down to the limit

While adopting high refractive index glass material and 4 aspherical lenses, each piece of glass is made thinner to the limit. It is difficult to process thin lenses with high accuracy, but the technology of the Aizu factory, SIGMA's only production base, makes this difficult mass production possible. In addition, the total length is shortened while ensuring higher performance for floating focus, and it is summarized in a compact lens configuration. We have achieved the lightest weight in our class by pursuing weight reduction in the mechanism design and scraping down each part without waste.

Brightness of open value F1.2 and high resolution from the shortest to infinity

The latest optical design realizes from the opening of the high resolution that thoroughly suppresses each aberration. In any situation, it can be described in detail without color. In addition, by adopting floating focus, which is advantageous for improving short-range performance, it is possible to create stable and high-level drawings in the entire range from the shortest to infinity.

Rich and beautiful blur without color blur

By correcting various aberrations such as spherical aberration, sagital coma flare, and chromatic aberration on the axis, we have achieved a smooth and natural blur depiction that does not blur the color from the focused side. Two-line blur is also suppressed, so you can make use of the melting boket taste in the expression.

Circular diaphragm with 13 aperture feathers

SIGMA's first 13 aperture feathers are adopted. Even if you narrow it down from the opening, it will maintain a circle. By increasing the surface accuracy of the aspheric lens to the limit, smooth and beautiful ball blur expression is possible.

Designed with less focus breathing

The placement of the focus group and the optimization of the aspherical shape greatly suppress the focus breathing. There is little change in the angle of view due to focus movement, so it is possible to express the natural expression of focus feed in video shooting.
