5 Steps How to Brew Moka Coffee 

Step 1: Fill the bottom pot with fresh cold water. Make sure the water level is below the safety valve, and insert the filter funnel. 

Step 2: Place finely-ground coffee inside the filter funnel. Do not press down. Gently level off, and screw the assembled top firmly onto the bottom pot. 

Step 3: Place the espresso maker stove top on the electric or gas stove. Make sure the handle is not exposed to heat! 

Step 4: Keep the Moka pot espresso maker on low to medium heat and wait for the water to boil and coffee to start percolating. Once the top pot is ¾ full, remove the stovetop espresso maker from heat and allow ∼1 minute to finish. Only hold by the handle, do not touch the Moka pot coffee maker with bare hands. 

Step 5: Open the lid and stir the coffee with a teaspoon before serving it in the cup. Pour coffee immediately in a demitasse cup, like an espresso shot, or add hot milk and steamed milk foam for a cappuccino.
