This 2-volume set of The Poetical Works of Robert Browning in fine tree calf leather binding is a rare and exquisite collection for literature and poetry enthusiasts. Published by Macmillan in 1899 in New York.

The books are in fair to good condition and are written in English. All pages are intact with no torn, no missing, no stained, no dog-eared pages. The thick leather, front, back, and spine do show wear and age. Volume 1 has some wear along the front lower left bottom corner. Also the front cover of volume I has separated from the spine. Volume II front cover has also separated from the spine.

Both books feature a different portrait of Robert Browning. The pages are thick cut with rough edges. The very front page of both books is inscribed with the prior owner’s name and the number 8/100.

Both books have marbled endpapers, tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait of Browning to each volume.

Obviously, both books could use a little TLC, but with some proper restoration, these books could be brought back to a much higher value. Both books have the most important attributes intact.
