These 2 prayer charms are to bring good luck to the bearer.  The white one is from Ugafuku Shrine in Kamakura and is said to bring prosperity and good luck on particular occasions or tasks.  The prayer inside states where it is from and that it is an amulet.  The gold one is from Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine also in Kamakura.  It is a child's good luck charm and bears the image of Hello Kitty as a samurai on the outside as the shrine is dedicated to the guardian deity of samurai.  The inside states where it is from and that is it a child's charm.  Both of these were acquired in Japan and are in great condition.  They measure about 3" inches in length.
