This is a vintage antique sample of patented barbed wire.  This sample features a Jacob Haish patent dated August 31, 1875.  This wire is called "Haish's Large Original Barb on Two Lines, by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 424-B).  This wire features two twisted together round line wires.  Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire in an ESS configuration around both line wires.  Sample is 18" in length and shows light to moderatel oxidation. Cut has four barbs, which are well spaced and cut is well centered.   There are no bends, breaks, missing points or repairs.
