 In All Good Things, the final episode of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, 
we get a glimpse of a future in which the Enterprise-D has stayed in service and has been upgraded with the addition of a third nacelle and a massive phaser cannon on the underside of the saucer. The upgrades were made by legendary modelmaker Greg Jein, who designed them to be added to the existing model. 
The model is 8.66" (22 cm) long.
