First remove the old one with a wrench, then use thread sealing tape to wrap the 1-1/4" NPT threads on the control, overlapping the tape by half the width to form two layers and continuing to the end of the threads on the large end. Use a wrench to screw the control into the tank opening at about 2/3 of the way down.(Note:The tank must be at least 9 inches (229 mm) in diameter)
