This auction features an original 1:18th scale diecast replica of the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, the Official Pace Car of the 1955 Indianapolis 500, produced by ERTL Diecast for their American Muscle Series. Car is Mint in the original Box.

The 39th annual Indy 500 was run on May 30, 1955 and won by Bob Sweikert. The race is most remembered for the untimely death of two-time champ Bill Vukovich. The pace car was driven that year by Thomas Keating (Chevy Division Chief at GM). 

American Muscle Pace Car is complete and unbroken (removed from box only for pictures - never displayed) with beautiful red/white finish and accurate Memorial Day race day logos. Has opening doors and hood covering a 265 ci V8 Chevy engine and is free rolling on Firestone whitewall tires. Displays very well and should make an excellent addition to your vintage 1:18 Chevy or Indy 500 Pace Car diecast car collection.
