A 9 1/4 inch tall oval shaped translucent purple colored blown glass flask.  It is a  free blown glass flask as it has NO seams and has an open pontil on the base.   It is either an early American original antique hand-blown bottle (sheared lip and open pontil) or a later produced piece, art work or reproduction, of an original  American ribbed flask

  • Condition:   This bottle is in GOOD CLEAN condition.   It has light wear/haze, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.  See pictures for overall idea of flask's appearance.

  • Age:  Either an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE free-blown early American flask with open pontil  (ca. early-mid 1800's) or newer contemporary glass flask; unknown.

  • Shipping: FREE DOMESTIC shipping. We DO ship Internationally but we do NOT insure International orders UNLESS BUYER SPECIFICALLY REQUESTS THIS AND WE ARE ABLE to provide an insurance estimate. It is becoming increasingly difficult to insure international orders and the price can exceed the price of the item, which can negate the sale. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
  • We procured this flask as part of a large collection of antique bottles from a collector in Wisconsin that we did a high volume cash/trade deal with.   The bottles were 1870 - 1910, ALL hand blown in mold bottles, and ALL were HIGH QUALITY bottles, in different colors and design.  The collector was in need of  cash and no longer interested in collecting bottles.  When asked about the flask, which was the only bottle I was not familiar with, he was short of information on it. It was a bottle that had been in his collection and he knew neither its origin or  its age.  So I run it here without knowing its value, rarity, and age.  I do not want to price it high if it is a reproduced piece and I do not want to price it low if it is an authentic piece.  If nothing else, running it on eBay should produce some feedback. Hopefully it will sell, which will authenticate it or it won't and I will get some input to this affect.  DO not take offense at the price and please don't buy it if you aren't sure as I do not want it returned or to receive bad feedback.  BUT if it is an early American flask it is a beautiful one; great color with lots of bubbles in the glasscheck it out!
