VINTAGE LIMOGES BUST

Beautiful vintage French white bisque porcelain bust of Empress Josephine, the wife of Napoleon Bonaparte - measures about 5" in height. Featuring a detailed crown to her Empire waist gown with bust any girl would envy, statue is unglazed with a glazed porcelain plinth socle base reflecting hand applied gilding. Complete with factory printed LIMOGES CASTEL stamp dating 1960-1973, condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage - note the slight glue residue on her back from the original label - I was not certain what to use to remove this, but it appears to come off rather easily when rubbed with a fingernail. Will leave to the discretion of the new owner - does not detract a bit. A striking vintage bust - acquired recently from the estate of an avid Napoleon collector who purchased it in France. Wonderful addition to any display!
