Kevin Shields, an effect-heavy guitar tone innovator and a huge influence on the scene, wowed the world with his iconic fuzz sound and defined the sound of alternative rock in the 80s and 90s. Kevin chose the original Fender Blender effector, loved for its dynamic response and strong fuzz. Over four years of joint development, Fender and Kevin revived this legendary '70s fuzz, updated its features, and created an entirely new Fender Shields Blender.

Fender Shields Blender recreates the tone of his vintage '70s Fender Blender by carefully hand-tracing Kevin's unique fuzz box circuitry. Based on this vintage circuit, an entirely new way to control and blend the original fuzz voice is built with practical performance in mind using four easily accessible footswitches. The two fuzz channels, which can be switched with a footswitch, each have their own level control, allowing you to blend the fuzz voice with a clean signal or a powerful sub-octave fuzz. In addition, the SAG footswitch allows you to control everything by the intensity of your performance, providing unprecedented sputtering and ducking effects.
