We are offering for your consideration an exquisite, five- piece, tea and coffee service manufactured in Newburyport, Massachusetts by Towle Silversmiths. The service has large pieces and is heavy, weighing 9.50 pounds unwrapped. The pieces are circa: 1940 and are unmarked. The family we purchased it from stated it originally had paper labels but they washed off through the years. Each piece measures the following:

***Hinged Coffee Pot measures 11.25 inches high and 10.50 inches from handle to spout.

***Hinged Teapot measures 10.50 inches high and 10.50 inches from handle to spout.

***Covered Sugar Bowl measures 7.25 inches high and 7.25 inches from handle to handle.

***Creamer measures 5 inches high and 5.75 inches from handle to spout.

***Waste Bowl measures 4 inches high and 3.75 inches in diameter at the top.

The urn shaped pieces with grooves on the sides sit upon four, curved feet decorated with trio of flowers and Acanthus leaves. The stylized bird spouts and sweeping handles are decorated with Acanthus leaves. The high domed covers are topped with a floral and leaf finial. The creamer and waste bowl are lightly gilded inside, the sign of a quality service. Other than a few very light scratches the service is in EXCELLENT READY TO USE ESTATE CONDITION for its age. There is no major silver wear to note, no dents, dings, or repairs. The insides are clean with no rust or staining and the outsides have a mirror like shine. A treasured service that will add a touch of elegance at those holiday or special dinners with family and friends.
