Description:  You are bidding on a Antique English Arabesque Star S & JB Cup & Saucer Blue.  The shape and size of the saucers indicate an era when the tea was poured into the saucer to cool & drink.  From History of Tea in England:  Drinking tea from the saucer (poured from the cup in order to cool it) was not uncommon at one time but is now almost universally considered a breach of etiquette.

 

Condition:  There are no chips or cracks however there are age staining and crazing indicating well used estate condition. 

 

Marks:  The bottoms are marked with a Blue LOGO with Arabesque Star inside and S&JB under the LOGO

The Cup is (1) 4.5” side to handle x 3.75” wide x 2” high

The Saucers (2) are 6” in diameter x 1.25” high
