This is one of a remaining few David Byrd posters in stock with the full annotation and signature. More recent editions have either the signature "David Edward Byrd" bracketed by the original and published years or most recently, simply "Byrd," also bracketed by dates.

This beautiful and dramatic celebration of the Fillmore East's Fiftieth Anniversary was created by the only staff designer the venue ever had, David Edward Byrd.

This poster has been annotated, hand-signed and noted as "A/P" in pencil by David. It also comes with my signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and Lifetime Guarantee.

David Edward Byrd passed away on February 3, 2025 of complications from COVID. His place in the pantheon of poster artists is secure. In the rock music arena he created highly memorable, iconic poster images of Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead and dozens more for not only as the only staff artist for the Fillmore East, but for countless concerts, album packages (his design group won a Grammy for "Tommy.") and other rock art. He also created some of the most memorable Broadway show posters in history, images such as Sondheim's Follies, Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors and many others.

He also created numerous book and album covers, TV Guide covers, served as the art director of Warner Bros where he created Harry Potter street scenes such as the winding London Side street Diagon Alley.
