I tried using one of those tri-fold shovel, and I hated it. I decided I could do better and came up with my own version of a pack shovel.

The body is made from anodized aluminum and the shovel head is steel. It fits into a 13" by 9.5" bag and you are able to choose on how much shovel you will want to bring.

The short assembly is 28.5" overall length and weighs 2 lbs. and 2 oz. The long assembly measures 35.75" and weighs 2 lbs. and 8 oz. 

     One reasons why I think you will like this shovel better than most: It is just a shovel, no extra bells and whistle that take away from the true function of a shovel.

Every extra thing added takes away from the true purpose of a digging tool.
