In the 1930’s, OMAS pens differed from other celluloid pens not only in terms of models and technical solutions but also in the incredible number of colours and designs. This was undoubtedly linked to typically Italian artistic imagination.
Arco proved a cut above the rest and soon became a hallmark of the House. Arco is not the name of a colour but of a design. It denotes a refined composition of subtle shades blending into the basic colour at the front of the pen to form a narrow arc with a strikingly beautiful effect.
Production was suspended on account of the drastic shortage of the basic raw material caused by World War II and it was only in 1990 that production was resumed after much painstaking research began to bear fruit.
The celluloid is a very precious material that is obtained from wood and embodies all the qualities that make a perfect pen: bright look, light weight, robustness, pleasant feel and an extraordinary combination of colours. Manufactured using the same methods of OMAS founder, Armando Simoni, a celluloid pen requires 365 days of production, each celluloid pen is a unique piece.
