Eheim TORF Pellets are specially treated acidic filter peat, designed to help lower pH and reduce the hardness of aquarium water.

This filter media is ideal for aquariums where a pH level below 7 is required, making it suitable for fish that naturally prefer softer, more acidic water conditions. Eheim TORF is rich in valuable natural substances, including humic acids and trace elements, which help acidify the water and support blackwater-style aquarium conditions.

The pellets are suitable for use in external canister filters, sump filters and some internal filters. For convenience, this pack includes a net bag, making it easier to place and remove the peat from your filter.

How to Use:
Eheim TORF expands in water, so it should be soaked in some aquarium water before use. Do not wash or rinse the pellets, as this can remove the valuable natural substances that help the peat work effectively.

Place Eheim TORF after the mechanical and biological filter media, such as Eheim MECH, MECHpro or SUBSTRATpro. For best results, place Eheim SYNTH or a fine white filter pad directly after the TORF in the filter.

Inside the filter, Eheim TORF should usually be used for around 3–6 weeks. The amount used can be adjusted depending on the needs of your aquarium, but as a guide, use 1 pack per 80 litres of aquarium water.

Important:
Only use Eheim TORF if your aquarium pH is too high for the fish you wish to keep. Do not wash before use and do not use together with carbon or charcoal, as this may reduce its effectiveness. For freshwater use only.
