A 3 inch wide x 1 1/8 inch tall flat CARDBOARD cosmetic powder compact that is STILL SEALED, it has NEVER BEEN OPENED. It has FULL CONTENTS (cosmetic powder) and has a great Victorian-era image of a woman on the lid of it. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE container, dating back to ca. late 1800 -- early 1900 era.
This compact has been in our collection for years; actually decades, ever since we recovered it from the basement of the old Rexall Drug Store here in town, when it shut down back in the 1980's. We recovered a hoard of antique pharmaceutical and cosmetic bottles, tins, boxes, and paper, from the shelves of this dimly lit basement, it was a sealed time capsule. It was inside another box which is why it is preserved so well and why it is still sealed. It was NEVER put out on the shelf for sale, but was part of an inventory that never went to market as the drug store aged and finally closed its doors. Items like this are FINITE, you cannot go out and dig them up like old bottles or old coins and only so many have survived the ravages of time. This one survived over a century of time, and is in amazing condition, check it out!
