These individual Flamed Maple ribs are preformed to fit full a standard size violin. They will need fitting to suit and therefore they are made with extra length and width to be trimmed to suit the shape of the host top and back if there is any variation. The width of the ribs is 34mm with a 1.5mm thickness and there is an extra 5mm on the length of each part.

Violins do vary in size but to these ribs will suit violins with a Body Length of 35/6cm, (excluding neck button) a lower Bout of 21/2cm, an upper Bout of 16/7cm, and depth of 32/4mm. So plenty of wiggle room!

The process of preforming introduces some tension / twist in the Maple but these are quite flexible and will easily revert to their true section.
