Heavy snow during the winter of 1941 sometimes kept pilots and their aircraft grounded. Despite the best efforts of the ground-crew during this heavy snow storm, there was no way Spitfire 'G' George assigned to Geoffrey Wellum, based at RAF Manston coild resume combat sweeps over northern Europe until the storm passed.
