Custom Made Makita XCV11Z to standard 1.25 inch attachment adapter, UPDATED!

I love my Makita XCV11Z but absolutely hated the fact that I could not use other attachments, specifically a brush, with my vacuum cleaner. Looking online, combing forums, and even contacting Makita directly told me there were no adapters available. The best suggestions I received was to use duct tape to attach the attachment I wanted to the hose. I finally decided I had had enough and ordered a set of generic attachments online and decided to make them fit.

The result is this custom 3D printed adapter that allows me to use all the 1.25" accessories I purchased with my beloved Makita.

When designing my adapter I quickly noticed that even among the accessories I purchased in one package from a single vendor, there were different sizes. One was a little bigger, one a little smaller. I decided to make the small end of the adapter a little longer and a little wider at the wide end than a typical adapter would be to make sure that all the 1.25" accessories I could find would fit and work well.

Will it work with attachments that don't specify 1.25"?

Maybe. I designed this adapter to allow me to fit a wide array of sizes and to allow for wear and stretching of the cheap plastic in some of the really inexpensive sets you can get online, but obviously I can not test them all.

Will it work with steam/carpet cleaners?

Maybe. I have not tested it with these but I see no reason it would not. Do keep in mind that plastic melts at high temperatures and there are no fittings for cleaning solutions. This means you can try it, but I do not guarantee it will work for this application.

Will it work with wet/dry vacuums?

Absolutely! It was designed specifically for the Makita XCV11Z which is a wet/dry vac. I have been using mine for a while now and have had no issues at all with either wet or dry applications.
