Product Overview
This composite AV cable connects your Sega Mega Drive 1, Genesis 1, or Master System 1 to any TV or monitor with standard RCA inputs. The 5-pin DIN connector plugs into the AV port on the back of the console, while the other end provides two RCA connectors — yellow for composite video and white for audio. At 1.8 metres long, the cable provides ample reach to connect your console to your TV without stretching or running short.
The Mega Drive 1, Genesis 1, and Master System 1 all share the same AV port, so this single cable works with all three consoles. Audio output from the AV port on these consoles is mono — this is a hardware limitation of the console itself, not the cable. If you would like stereo sound on a Mega Drive 1, you can use a separate 3.5 mm audio cable from the headphone jack on the front of the console alongside this video cable.
Important Compatibility Note: This cable is designed for the Sega Mega Drive 1, Genesis 1, and Master System 1 only, which use a 5-pin DIN AV connector. It is not compatible with the Mega Drive 2 or 3 (Genesis 2 or 3) or the Master System 2, all of which use different AV connectors.
