Bockingford Watercolour Paper Sheets – Cut to Size Packs
Genuine Bockingford watercolour paper sheets, cut to size by us and available in a choice of pack sizes, paper weights and surface finishes. This listing is ideal for artists, students, hobby painters, watercolourists, illustrators and anyone wanting high-quality loose watercolour paper without buying full imperial sheets.
Bockingford is a beautiful English watercolour paper, traditionally made at St Cuthberts Mill on a cylinder mould machine. It is mould made, acid free and produced to archival standards using pure materials. The paper has a distinctive natural surface created with woollen felts, giving it a random texture that many artists enjoy for watercolour painting, sketching and mixed media work.
This is one of Local Art Shop’s top recommendations for learning watercolour because it offers dependable quality at an affordable price. It is forgiving, handles colour well and is especially appreciated for its excellent colour-lifting ability. That makes it useful for both beginners developing their technique and experienced artists who want a reliable everyday watercolour paper.

Cold Pressed / NOT – medium texture, the most popular all-round watercolour surface
Rough – stronger texture, best for expressive washes, granulation and more textured brushwork
Important stock note:
The half sheet and quarter sheet options are cut from the same full sheet stock. This means the stock level is shared between related options. For example, if the 15 x 11 inch quarter sheet option shows 4 sheets available and the 22 x 15 inch half sheet option shows 2 sheets available, this means there is only one full sheet of paper in stock. In that situation, we can only fulfil one order from that shared stock.
After an order is placed, it can take around 20 minutes for the stock levels across all related options to update correctly. If stock looks low or you need a larger quantity, please message us before ordering and we will check availability for you.
Artist view: Bockingford is a very practical and dependable watercolour paper. It is not the most expensive paper on the market, but that is part of its strength. It gives artists a proper mould-made painting surface that is good enough for serious work while still being affordable enough for practice, classes and regular painting. The paper is particularly good for learning because it is forgiving and allows colour to be lifted more easily than many harder-sized papers.
Please select your required size, pack quantity, weight and surface from the available options before purchase. Not every surface may be available in every weight or pack size.
