• The 1979 Irish 1 pound banknote, in shade of green, shows us on its obverse Medb (legendary mythological Queen of Connacht, territory encompassing the counties of Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo); on its reverse is reproduced an old 12th century Irish manuscript. It bears the signatures of C. H. Murray and T. F. O'Cofaigh.
