The working principle of the expansion tank is: 
In the water jacket of the cooling water tank and the upper part of the radiator, easy to accumulate air and steam parts with water pipes connected to the expansion tank, so that the air and steam is no longer directly released to the atmosphere, but guided to the expansion tank and water separation, steam condensation into water and then returned to the water inlet of the pump through the inlet pipe, so that the water pump inlet out to maintain a higher water pressure, thereby increasing the pump water; and The air accumulated above the liquid level of the expansion tank is cooled and no longer subject to thermal expansion, thus turning into a buffer and expansion space for the pressure rise in the cooling system, so that the pressure in the system remains stable.

We should often check the water level in the expansion tank in daily use, so that it is between the lowest and highest level, if the water level is too low to add in time. It should be noted that the pressure inside the cooling system is higher than the atmospheric pressure, so when the engine is hot to open the water tank cover, must pay attention to safety, should be slowly screwed open, so that the pressure is reduced to prevent hot water sprayed out, causing burns
