Half-Moon Wooden Balancing Blocks Toy – Quality Handmade Heirloom Solid Wood Natural Toy.

This gorgeous handmade heirloom solid wood toy is in excellent, very gently used condition. There are a few minor scratches/divots from normal play (see photos) but on the whole the set looks so clean and fresh, it almost seems new.

This simple, open-ended toy is so fun for little ones! They can just play with the rolling/stackable wooden circular blocks, or try to balance them on the half-moon crescent! Along with its round base, the moon’s facial contours give an interesting and variable surface that actually does make getting all the blocks up a tricky challenge! They often fall right off just as you add the last one or two. It’s the kind of toy that keeps giving and giving as your little one imagines new ways to arrange and play.

This set was made by Smiling Tree Toys, an artisanal wooden toymaker in Minnesota. It was made with three tones/types of high-quality, solid wood—I want to say birch, maple, and walnut, but I’m not certain on that. Each piece was expertly carved and sanded, and either well-oiled or sealed with something to protect the wood a little and remove that splintery raw wood effect some cheaper wood toys can have. They feel completely smooth and lovely to touch.

This moon and his circles are in excellent shape and ready for lots more play!

Set includes 1 crescent moon balancing base, 3 large light-toned circles, 5 medium-sized medium-toned circles, 6 small dark-toned circles, and gray striped cotton drawstring storage bag.

Moon measures 8.25 in long x 3 in wide x 1.25 in deep.

Circles measure between 1.3 and 1.75 inches in diameter and are about 1 inch think.
