A WATCH FOR THE COLLECTOR, OR THE JAEGER LECOULTRE ENTHUSIAST.
A BEAUTIFUL 1968 ENGLISH SOLID 9 CARAT GOLD GENUINE JAEGER LECOULTRE MAN'S WATCH WITH AN ORIGINAL DIAL AND RARE K818/IC MANUAL WIND MOVEMENT FRESH FROM AN ESTATE SALE AND NEVER OFFERED ON EBAY BEFORE!
CASE:
This is a lovely solid 9 carat GOLD two piece snap on bezel watch case. The inside rear of the case is hall marked for solid 9 carat gold with an Edinburgh hall mark and a date letter for 1968. The case is by BWC (case makers to JLC in the UK at this time) and is signed to that effect. Its simple design is beautiful. The case is in good original condition for its advanced years showing no major wear apart from some normal light wear marks and one noticeable shallow ding to the case back (See pics). It has NO personalizations to the back. The case is shining with a beautiful golden lustre after a gentle polish. The case measures 3.2 cms (32mm) In diameter, excluding the crown. This is a nice QUALITY solid gold case.
DIAL:
The originality is in the dial. This is an absolutely lovely, and most importantly ORIGINAL fully signed white dial. This RARE dial is FULLY signed by "Jaeger LeCoultre" BUT IT IS UNUSUALLY SIGNED AT THE 3 O’CLOCK POSITION in black painted lettering and has an applied gold JLC trademark at 12 o’clock. The dial shows light marks and a light normal age related patina and some spotting/marks (see pics) THE DIAL IS TOTALLY ORIGINAL. It has gold colored applied baton markers which are in good aged condition. The slim hands are gold, and are in good condition showing age related wear. This is a really lovely dial in FANTASTIC original condition. The crystal is new and is plastic. As such it is in excellent condition.
MOVEMENT:
This is a beautiful and absolutely genuine JAEGER LECOULTRE FULLY SIGNED EXTREMELY RARE HI GRADE K818/IC manual wind movement. The movement is signed on the top plate, showing its true Jaeger roots. The watch has been oiled and timed by my watchmaker. It winds smoothly and sets with ease. It is in full working condition and has nice operation. As always, a full service would be recommended for optimum performance, timekeeping and continued operation. The watch is keeping good time to within approximately one minute per day, as tested over a 24 hour period. The golden crown is signed but is not JLC (see photos) It is in excellent condition showing slight normal wear.
BAND.
This lovely watch is fitted with a brand new black genuine leather 18mm band with a gold tone buckle. The band compliments this watch really well and is in excellent condition.
THIS IS A FABULOUS AND RARE 1968 JAEGER LECOULTRE TIMEPIECE. IF YOU ARE AN ENTHUSIAST OR COLLECTOR YOU WOULD BE MAD TO MISS THIS HOROLOGICAL BEAUTY.

Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming.Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
MY POSTAGE CHARGES ARE FIXED-DO NOT TRY TO NEGOTIATE AFTER THE END OF THE AUCTION.
BE CAREFUL!-IF YOU "CLICK BUY IT NOW"- I WILL EXPECT PAYMENT FOR THE GOODS, SO ONLY CLICK IF YOU INTEND TO PAY!!
