A 4 1/2 inch tall deep SUN COLORED AMETHYST (SCA) antique BARREL shaped MUSTARD BOTTLE / JAR.   Note that this bottle or jar that was created in the same figure of a real barrel.  This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating back to the 1800's.

  • Condition   Bottle is in good clean condition.  It may have some traces of haze and age wear but NO cracks, chips, dings, damage,  (See pictures for overall condition).

  • Age:  An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a hand tooled top, ca. late 1800's.

What a beautiful looking antique barrel mustard bottle in this DEEP PURPLE color and CLEAN condition.  This bottle had been exposed to a high heat/light source to enrich the purple color that would naturally occur if exposed to sun light for a prolonged period of time.   It has not been colored, stained, or altered.   With few exceptions, only clear glass from before 1914 will turn sun-colored-amethyst.   Whether a bottle has been purpled by the sun, by UV rays in a box, or by a sterilization process, they all turn the same purple color as it is all the same chemical reaction taking place. Not only does this deep purple/amethyst color make this a great looking bottle, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique, check it out!
