A fine crafted die-cast medal with an oxidized silver finish, this beautiful medal features the popular image of the Madonna of the Streets on the front and "Pray for Us" on the back. It measures 1" high and 5/8" wide. Made in Italy, attached jump ring included.

TheMadonnina, commonly known as the Madonna of the Streets, was a painting createdby Roberto Ferruzzi (1854–1934) that won the second Venice Biennale in 1897.

The modelsfor this painting were Angelina Cian (age 11) and her younger brother. Althoughnot originally painted as a religious picture, this painting became popularizedas an image of the Virgin Mary holding her infant son, and has become the mostrenowned of Ferruzzi's works.

The poemLovely Lady Dressed in Blue is a poem written by American Roman Catholic poetand tennis player Mary Dixon (Molly) Thayer (1896-1989). The poem was originally released inher book The Child On His Knees which was published by Macmillan in 1926. Itbecame widely known when it was regularly read by American television-priestand later bishop Fulton J. Sheen in the 1950s.
