Vintage K-mart anthropomorphic salt and pepper shakers, that depict 2 ears of corn as whimsical “corny” people with black shoe bases.  About 4 1/2" tall.

New old stock, unused in box. Made of lightweight ceramic with original stoppers. Super addition to your collection of kitchen decor.

They are dime store ware back in the day and as painted. Overall two beauties!  

Date of making and distribution unknown. K-Mart changed their logo a few times it is hard to document the exact age, however, the fact that the

Troy Michigan 48084 location is not abbreviated to a two letter MI is an indication of age, no bar code on the box, plus Made in Japan dates them

My guess late 50's-60's.
