In this book the author uses a wealth of rare archive material gleaned over years of research, to produce a book that will not only be of interest to the Powell enthusiast but the general reader as well.

In 1876 John Evan Powell and Robert Jones Powell formed Powell Brothers Ltd Cambrian Ironworks Wrexham.  The following year they were joined by John Whitaker.  The company bought the patent and rights to manufacture a potato digging machine.  This machine “The Best Potato Raiser in the World” was exported all over the globe.

During the First World War the Cambrian Ironworks produced thousands of shell casings and mortar bombs.  On cessation of hostilities, Powells entered the fiercely competitive oil engine and motor cycle markets with limited success. By 1924 they encountered financial difficulties and closed in 1927.

This is a hardback book, size 215mm x 305mm, 186 pages and with extensive colour and black & white illustrations. The book is brand new. Shrink wrapped.
