Description: 

 

The Broadbus B-1 Video Server Platform is capable of up to 20,000 streams of MPEG-2 video at 3.75Mbps in a single 18U chassis, with full support for H.264 and VC-1.  In a clustered configuration, greater than 1 million streams can share a single storage library of more than 1 million hours.  Interfaces such as GigE and Fibre-Channel are standard and the system is compatible with back-offices from Tandberg TV (formerly N2BB) and C-COR (formerly nCUBE) as well as several proprietary systems.

The Broadbus B-1 is unique in its ability to leverage commodity elements such as DDR DRAM and SATA Hard Drives, while at the same time, using carrier-class elements in its chassis, power supplies and cooling systems which are critical to achieving exceptional levels of reliability.  Other systems are at the whim of mainstream PC manufacturers, who consistently obsolete their mid-level COTS systems with new models without reference to the on-going requirements for Video on Demand (VOD).  Additionally, these systems are unable to achieve the memory density and reliability requirements needed to have the most efficient and capable balance between RAM and Disk.

While other systems claim to "use RAM", the B-1 has a DRAM capacity as much as 80 times greater than other systems.  This density advantage is critical to achieving the performance characteristics of the B-1; including the industry's highest ingest capability, a feature that enables nPVR and TV on Demand (TOD) applications.  Instant availability of hundreds of channels of real time content is a key capability of the system.  Broadbus' open source Linux based architecture uses open-standards interfaces such as JAVA, .net, SOAP, XML, and CORBA, which also supporting the cable industry's open interface specifications such as ISA and NGOD.

Broadbus Technologies, Inc. was acquired by Motorola on August 20, 2015.

For best results, we recommend one or more cards installed in a B-1 chassis (offered separately) and the system will be shipped using Motor Freight on a pallet.

We generally ship UPS.  If you prefer Fedex, DHL or other carriers, please provide us with your shipper number.

 

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:  Delivery times expected to be around 14 business days, but may take as long as a month depending on your customs clearance.  Customer may be subject to other duties at time of delivery imposed by importer/customs not by Seller.  We ship primarily domestic.  You will be required to provide necessary documents for import or accept a delay in processing and/or cancellation and refund of your order.  We will not make or accept any “invoice” adjustments on amount to alter import fees.

 

FLORIDA RESIDENTS: Ebay does not have a per-county calculator.  Florida tax is currently being collected at 7.5%.
