12 strands of seed bead style glass beads- these are flat at the top and bottom- probably cut from a cane? Nice and long with gold toned end caps and a new gold toned lobster claw closure (I replaced this myself- the originsl clasp was missing). I'm pretty sure this is from the 1970's. You can twist the strand before wearing it to change the look. The way the glass beads are cut on the ends gives this some extra sparkle.
