vintage Sonex, Inc. unit- I believe this is a low frequency 'low pass' Bandpass Filter Assembly -- it consists of a Sonex S-27 Power Supply and five Sonex S-35 Modules: 730 hz; 980 hz; 1.3kHz; 1.7 kHz.; 2.3 kHz. -- all enclosed in a chassis with a multiplicity of connectors on the back including 4 microphone-plug like jacks, with 5 different frequencies -- measures about 3 1/2 by 17 by 17 1/2 in. --

--from a Sonex patent abstract: "
A class of band-pass filters are provided, each of which comprises a plurality of low pass active filters. Each of the filters has related resonating frequency and damping characteristics. The resonating frequency and damping characteristics for each of the filters causes all of the poles of the filters to be along a line parallel to the outputs of the filter so that the output signals of the filters are summed with alternate ones of the filters having the output signal inverted with respect to the other of the filters" --

-- Sonex worked with NASA on the Shuttle program and quite likely on the Apollo program, so this was possibly used by
NASA for Space Telemetry -- from the estate of an Optics/Oceanographic Engineer who had ties to NASA --

-- any information regarding this would be most appreciated --

-- wear from use: overall soiling and wear to the exterior/interior seems clean -- on/off switch on the front appears to have a broken toggle: plugged this in and nothing happened even with the switch on the back engaged -- this is sold untested/for parts --
