I am not sure of the original use for this Vintage Asahikawa Craft Wood Vase, Cup , Glass or Pencils holder ??? But it sure is BEAUTIFUL !!!! I believe it is Elm wood but again not very sure ??

I picked it up at an Estate sale and the owner could only remember that her husban had brought it back from a business trip to Japan in the late 1970's or early 1980's.

Measures 8 1/2 inches tall x 2 1/2 inches in diameter
